Are you ready to visit a dispensary for the first time? It will help to follow these tips so that your first visit goes smoothly.

Don't Touch Any Products

When you are working with a budtender, they may bring out a specific plant for you to look at or smell. However, you should not be touching any product that they bring out. It's not proper etiquette, and in general, you should only be touching products that you have purchased. Let the budtender handle all of the product for you.

Know The Differences Between Strains

There is going to be a lot of terminology thrown at you at first that you may be unfamiliar with, such as indica and sativa. Know that sativa strains are more likely to give you energy and potentially help you focus on a task. Indicas are the opposite, which can cause you to feel very relaxed and sleepy. There are also hybrids, which have a combination of both strands. It's important that you know what you are looking for so that you buy the right strand.

Be Prepared To Pay With Cash

Many marijuana dispensaries do not accept credit cards. You should be prepared to have cash on hand to make your purchase because of this. Some dispensaries will have an ATM on-site or accept debit cards, but it is uncommon for them to accept credit cards in many instances.

Be Aware Of THC Percentages

One of the nice things about purchasing marijuana from a dispensary is that they are going to be properly labeled with how much THC a product contains. This allows you to easily tell the difference between products that have a small or large amount of THC in them. As a beginner, you may want to start out with a product that has a low percentage of THC. Try to aim for something with a single-digit percentage of THC for your first purchase, just to be safe.

Don't Come With Minors

Going to a dispensary is a bit different than going to a liquor store or the liquor section of a grocery store. You should come only with people that are above the legal age to use marijuana. Most states will now allow children to come into the dispensary, with some exceptions. For example, a minor that has a medical marijuana prescription would be able to go into some dispensaries to receive prescribed marijuana for themselves.
